We have season because the earth is tilted on its axis and depending which way it is tilted depends on what season it is.  Like for example if the earth is tilted away from the sun then we would be in winter if it was pointing toward the sun it would be summer.  Another reason is that whatever season the north is in the south is in the opposite seaon.  In June it is usually warm because the earth is closer to the sun and in December it is usually cold becaussse  the earth is farther away from the sun.
